Yes. Our Macintosh(c)-based Linotronic(c)260 with RIP-50-J Japanese Imagesetter produces high resolution - up to 2540 dpi/150 lpi image with HQS Screening(c) on RC Paper or Film - employing Japanese PostScript(c) Fonts.
And JPS can provide 600 dpi laser proofs on request.

How does Japanese PostScript differ from Roman Language typesetting?

Two-byte coded Japanese PostScrip fonts, requiring suitable RIP, are capable of producing in excess of 6,000 characters! One-byte Roman Language fonts are far less complex and yield far smaller character sets.

Can Japanese be set in position to English layout specifications ?

Yes. JPS will meet your layout specifications from manuscript text, word-processor printouts, or text on disk (DOS(C) or Mac(c)). Hard copy, on paper or film, will be copy-fit to your exact specifications.

Can we save money if we provide material on disk ?

Yes. Tangible savings can be achieved by providing translated Japanese text on disk (DOS or Mac) with accompanying hard copy layout specification.
